Delete your account
You can delete your BookCloud account and all its data yourself, in the app or in your browser. If you can no longer sign in, we can do it for you by email. Deletion is permanent.
Delete it in the app
- Open the parent area (behind the parent PIN).
- Go to Account.
- Scroll to the Delete account button in the red “danger” block at the bottom of the screen.
- You'll first see how many child profiles, reading sessions, achievements, and favourites will be removed.
- To confirm, you enter your password and type your email address. Nothing is deleted until you do.
If your app is in another language, the labels are translated, but the red block sits in the same place.
If you no longer have the app installed
You don't need to reinstall it. Sign in at reader.bookcloud.app in any browser and follow the same steps.
Forgotten your password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen. Forgotten the parent PIN? You can reset it with your account password.
If you can't sign in at all
Email us at admin@bookcloud.app from the address on the account, and ask us to delete it. To make sure a deletion request really comes from the account holder, we may ask you to confirm a few details before we delete anything. We reply and act within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Your account, all child profiles, reading history, favourites, and achievements. These are removed from our database immediately, and we keep no backup we could restore them from. Deletion is irreversible — the account is deleted, not frozen or suspended.
What we keep, and for how long
If you never delete your account yourself, we do it for you. We automatically delete an account, and everything on it, once it has been dormant for 24 months — nobody has signed in, and no child profile has started a book, added a favourite or earned an achievement in that time.
We also delete the analytics events associated with your account, and our analytics provider completes the purge on its own periodic schedule. To have them deleted sooner, email admin@bookcloud.app.
Error reports are not covered by this deletion, and cannot be: they carry no account identifier and nothing that links them to you, so there is no way to find yours — which is also why they contain nothing to delete.
Want to remove just one child?
You don't have to delete the whole account. In the parent area, go to Children to remove a single child profile and its reading history while keeping your account.
